SCI coordinates international voluntary projects, long term volunteering and also trainings, seminars, conferences and campaigns all over the world. This is done in close cooperation with the branches and partner organisations.
International voluntary projects
Throughout the whole year – with a peak during July and August – SCI offers thousands of international voluntary projects all over the world. These projects generally last 2-4 weeks and provide the participants with an excellent opportunity to learn about other cultures and contribute in a concrete way to local communities. There are many different projects to choose from and they are open to everyone. Please check our on-line database and find the international voluntary project of your choice!
Long term volunteering
SCI runs a special program for people who want volunteer in one place for a longer period then the above mentioned 2-4 weeks. The LTV (Long Term Volunteer) programme makes it possible to stay abroad from 3 to 12 months. The possibilities are many: from working with disabled people to helping out in an orphanage or provide daily support in an SCI branch office. Long Term Volunteering is more then just work. It is the experience of living abroad and immersing yourself into another culture. Find out how you can apply for an LTV-project!
Trainings & seminars
SCI is almost entirely run by volunteers. The contributions of volunteers are of great value and that is why SCI organises many trainings, seminars and meetings where participants learn important skills and share experiences related to the implementation of voluntary projects. For upcoming seminars, trainings or other international events please check the calendar. For local events you can contact your branch.
