Voluntary Projects
Throughout the whole year – with a peak during July and August – SCI offers thousands of international voluntary projects all over the world. These projects generally last 2-4 weeks and provide the participants with an excellent opportunity to learn about other cultures and contribute in a concrete way to local communities. SCI also runs a special program for people who want to volunteer longer. The LTV (Long Term Volunteer) programme makes it possible to stay abroad from 1 to 12 months.
Non-formal education (trainings and seminars)
SCI is almost entirely run by volunteers. The contributions of volunteers are of great value and that is why SCI organises many trainings, seminars and meetings where participants learn important skills and share experiences related to the implementation of voluntary projects. For upcoming seminars, trainings or other international events please check the calendar. For local events you can contact your branch.
Other activities (Become Active!)
After participation in an international voluntary project, many volunteers are enthusiastic about SCI and want to stay involved. There are many ways to activate yourself for SCI. Most volunteers become active for a branch and do different things. For example they edit a newsletter, or organise information evenings for new volunteers. All SCI branches are willing to take in new volunteers. If you are interested in supporting at international level, then please contact the International Secretariat.
