SCI has member organisations all over the world. There are currently 43 branches, groups and contacts in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South and North America.
Branches, Groups and Contacts of SCI
Branches are full members of SCI and have a voting right at the International Committee Meeting. Groups and contacts are newer member organisations that are on their way to becoming members of SCI.
Even belonging to the same organisation and sharing the same values and ideas, the branches work independently in their own country to exchange volunteers and co-ordinate projects. This ensures that SCI activities always run in consultation with the local community.
To function well SCI needs effective communication between the branches. This happens via international meetings and trainings, e-mail lists and other daily communication. The branches also co – operate to form different international working groups, projects and campaigns.
Partners of SCI
Besides the member organisations, SCI also has many partners. These are independent but like-minded organisations that also run workcamps. We co – operate with the partner organisations in a similar way as with our branches; from exchanging volunteers to large scale training projects. Partners are often part of another peace or voluntary work network.
