The Africa Working Group is dedicated to promoting and facilitating exchanges to and from African countries, both short- and long-term voluntary services. For example, in 2009 AWG supported 13 branches in sending 180 volunteers to voluntary projects in 13 different African countries. The main groups of volunteers were hosted in Tanzania, Kenya and Togo. The working group also supports the development of long-term volunteer service in Africa. Long Term Volunteers have been placed in Togo and Kenya through the partner organisations Astovot and KVDA. Then there is the incoming programme through which African volunteers are sent to Europe.
