Have you ever considered combining your travels with
concrete voluntary work and
- work in a Wolf Sanctuary in the USA?
- run activities for Refugees in Kenya?
- plant Trees in Iceland?
- build a classroom in Mexico while learning Spanish?
- taste life in an eco-village in Bulgaria?
You can do all this and much more when joining an
international voluntary project with SCI. It is a way to explore the world with a purpose. An opportunity to give something back, to have something to do, somewhere to go and somewhere to stay.
History, culture, geography, environment, service, recreation and exploration: it is all part of a
international voluntary project. For two to four weeks you can participate in the project of your choice. You join an international volunteer team that works closely with the local community. Many projects also include a study component, related to the local and global issues addressed by that project.
Participating in a volunteer project means
serving a destination and its residents. It is an experience that will change you forever!
You can
search for projects on the
Online Project Database. To apply for an international voluntary project you need to contact your
local branch. You can also read general information on '
how to apply for an international voluntary project'.
