News from Asia International Working GroupThe Asian International Working group (AIWG) is a platform for activists and branches of SCI in Asia and the rest of the world. The main goals of the AIWG are to work towards a better co-operation and development of the Asian branches and the branches from the rest of the world. In order to achieve this goal the working group implements various activities, like providing communication and coordination between Asian branches and other branches, set up contacts with new Asian partners and deal with existing partners, stimulate exchanges within and to Asia.
The AIWG is made up of representatives from different Asian branches. For 2010 AIWG has a number of interesting actions planned. Apart from following up on the Asia Europe Exchange Program, there is the idea to cooperate with more branches in the North on exchanges and to promote the Asian workcamps more amongst branches in the North. AIWG also wants to work more closely with the Asia Development Committee and cooperate with them or support them in their international events. We will keep you up-dated about the activities of the Asia International Working Group in the next issues of the SCI e-zine!
