Housewarming VCV Serbia!
Having a nice, comfy, good positioned, functional, big, cheapest possible, warm and an own office is very essential for an organization to function properly. Sometimes we all work hard and we need a sleepover place. Sometimes we all stay out late in the city and there is no more busses, meaning that we need a shelter. And sometimes we simply need a good place in the city for mass parties. Of course, these are not things an office should be used for! These are possibilities.
New office!
Volunteers’ Centre of Vojvodina has recently moved into a new office: very big, functional and extremely good positioned. It has ca 85 square metres divided into 2 big rooms, one for workshops, trainings and meetings while the other one serves for administrative work. There is even an attic, turned into a storage room. We were pretty fortunate to find this one in a tender organized by the Novi Sad local government. It is shared between VCV and another befriended NGO.
Renovating
When we moved into the place it was quite a mess. It is a very old house and all the walls were very humid, the paint was falling off the cealings and the floor was pure cement. We invested a lot of time and efforts into making it what it is today. After all the work, moving our stuff in, choosing (arguing :-)) on the colour of the walls, installing desks, partitioning the space and almost consulting a feng-shui expert ;-) we are very happy now to have our new office ready for exploitation.

Party-time
Spring is reserved for setting up a cool cafe outside the office, a gallery and planting some greenery around. It will be just great! VCV is working on celebrating the 90th anniversary so as soon as concrete dates are decided you can expect a housewarming party invitation! |
