A wiki for SCI working groups and activistsSCI working groups have a new communication tool! As a follow-up of NSPM 2008, a wiki has been created at www.workcamps.info/wikiawg.

What is it?
A wiki is a web page that is built, maintained and driven forward by its users and readers. It is a tool for communication and planning and at the same time used as a common memory. You can contribute to the wiki yourself, by either providing new or improving existing information.
For whom?
The Wiki was developed for the North South Working Groups, however, it can be used by any other group or activist within SCI international. At this very moment the SCI wiki is already being used by, amongst others, the Peace Messengers, GAIA, the OPS-team and the Conflict Resolution Team.
Advantages?
1. The SCI wiki allows new activists to get quick overviews of what is going on within SCI and to find all kinds of useful documents. This is how the wiki makes it possible to build on existing knowledge instead of constantly ‘reinventing’ the wheel.
2. The Wiki can also reduce email circulation. For example, a meeting-agenda can be developed and up-dated on the wiki where all meeting participants would be able to find it.
3. Finally, the wiki includes personal pages (with contact data, pictures etcetera) of about 30 activists.
Where to find it/ whom to contact?
The wiki is accessible at www.workcamps.info/wikiawg. All activists of SCI branches, groups and partner organizations can have their own personal account and are warmly invited and encouraged to do so. Questions and requests can be sent to wiki@workcamps.info. Current administrator of the wiki is Jonathan Streit with Pascal Duterme as co-admin. |
