SCI-IS recently received a grant from the European Youth Foundation (EYF) to develop and implement a Communication Project with the (maximum) duration of one year, starting in September 2008.
A prepteam of four persons will be in charge of implementing this project, two members have already been appointed (IS Fundraiser and Project LTV) and herewith we launch a call for the other two.
The project aims at ‘the promotion of volunteering for peace and intercultural cooperation’. Through this project the message of volunteering for peace will be communicated to the general public, with a special emphasis on youth.
The two main promotional activities will be the design, printing and dissemination of a brochure on volunteering for peace, and the organization of a meeting with the presence of young volunteers. This meeting is going to be TEM 2009 in Germany.
The prepteam will prepare a workshop at TEM where general communication and PR issues will be discussed as well as the content of the brochure. All of this will be in line with the SCI strategic plan and communication plan.
Profile of the prepteam members EYF Communication Project
1. Involvement and experience as an activist/ volunteer/ staff person in SCI
2. Under 30 years of age
3. Availability to travel to Germany between 17th and 23rd of February
4. Availability to travel to Belgium for 2 – 3 days in May or June
5. Be able to communicate within SCI as a global movement and within the prepteam (Skype, email) on a regular basis
6. Some experience/ knowledge of communication and PR within organisations
7. Experience in planning and organising events (seminars, workshops..)
8. Writing skills (for websites, brochures etc.) and/ or experience in graphic design
9. Good working knowledge of English
