The goal of the event is to provide a more complex and balanced information on the issue of human rights and offer the possibility of a better understanding of the importance and of the connections between foreign political and social themes. Furthermore, to contribute in this way to the public debate on the role that Romanian citizens and Romania can and should have in a globally interconnected world, the world which we live in.
SCI-Romania will be present at this event with a photo exhibition, called "14 Mirades sobre el Raval". This is a part of the "24 Mirades sobre el Raval" photo exhibition in Barcelona 2007.
The exhibition was the result of a youth exchange organized last year in Barcelona by SCI-Catalonia together with SCI-Romania, VSI-Ireland and SCI-France. During a period of 7 days volunteers from Romania, Spain, Ireland and France with the purpose to extend the level of knowledge and also the interest in the emigration/immigration phenomenon in Europe tried to get a glimpse of the Raval's inhabitants, a neighborhood from Barcelona, well-known for its ethical and cultural diversity. The photographs are taken by amateur photographers, which are trying to expose to the public the neighborhood characteristics and to exemplify some people's lives.
The exhibition will be available from 27th May - 4th June in the Czech Center in Bucharest.
