The MIDI Working Group works to promote and engage with the work of SCI in the mediterranean region. The working group has been very active in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine where several SCI volunteers took part both in short-term as well as in LTV voluntary projects. Most of the MIDI activities are carried out by the branches. They do many projects and exchanges with the partners in Syria, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. Long-term volunteers from these areas are also often invited to Europe.
Their work also includes;
- Working to bring coherence to the involvement of SCI branches and groups in the Mediterranean and Middle East area
- Reinforcing the international dimension of the projects and exchanges within the region
- Actively opposing violations of peace and human rights concerning the region
- Developing new partnerships
