Abya Yala is the working group of SCI that promotes and encourages political awareness, workcamps and exchanges regarding Latin American issues. Also, the volunteer exchange to Latin America is centralised and it is managed by an SCI contact in Mexico with the help of Abya Yala International Placement Team.
Their work includes;
- Facilitating the exchange of information
- Assisting the organisation of workcamps and study tours
- Inviting individuals or groups who represent a particular cultural, social or political group
- Organising International Solidarity campaigns
- Organising International, national, regional seminars
- Producting and distributing educational and informative materials related to the social and political situation in Latin America, activities of SCI, etc.
